No. 1 women's basketball transfer Hailey Van Lith announced Tuesday on Instagram that she is headed to the bayou to join LSU, the defending national champions.
The former Louisville guard averaged 19.7 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game last season. Van Lith helped lead the Cardinals to an Elite Eight appearance before falling to the Iowa Hawkeyes.
Van Lith has two years of collegiate eligibility remaining and is expected to make an instant impact as a primary ball handler for the Tigers who lost guard Alexis Morris. Morris was drafted in the first round of the 2023 WNBA Draft.
Van Lith will be joining an established roster with stars like Angel Reese and Flau'jae Johnson. The Tigers have the No. 1 recruiting class in the nation, which is headlined by Mikayla Williams.
After this monumental move, Head Coach Kim Mulkey and company are expected to be a favorite for the national title again this year.
