Moon Ursin joins the purple and gold

LSU released Wednesday that LSU Women's Basketball have picked up Baylor graduate transfer Moon Ursin for the 2021 season.

This is the second Louisiana native coach Kim Mulkey has brought from Baylor after joining LSU in April.

"Just like me, Moon is coming home and we are thrilled to have her on our team," Mulkey said. "Moon is an outstanding player and a wonderful person, and she's going to be a great addition to our team."

Last season, under Coach Mulkey, Ursin averaged 12.6 points, 6.6 rebounds and 3.8 assists a game.

"Our fans are going to love watching her play," Mulkey said. "She can jump out of the gym, she has tremendous speed and quickness, and she's just an all-around exceptional athlete."

Ursin is from Destrehan near New Orleans and averaged 25.0 points, 12.9 rebounds, 7.3 assists, 6.0 steals and 5.5 blocks per game her junior year of high school.

Ursin was the first player to ever secure three Gatorade Player of the Year in Louisiana awards and two-time Miss Basketball for Louisiana.
