Tiger Park was almost filled to the brim on Saturday night as the Tigers softball team took on South Carolina Gamecocks in their second game of the weekend series.

Freshmen dominated the pitchers mound tonight as Ali Kilponen opened up pitching for the Tigers, followed by Shelby Whickersham.

Early in the game Elyse Thornhill helped the Tigers get a good start, hitting a 2RBI double before the gamecocks came back to score 4 in the 3rd inning.

After a scoreless 4th and 5th inning it was Amanda Sanchez with a home run that  brought the Tigers back on the scoreboard.

In the end it was South Carolina that took home the win, beating the Tigers 7-5. The two SEC teams will meet up again Sunday for the final of the 3 games.
