LSU football has been preparing all year to clinch their first New Year's Six bowl title since the start of the College Football Playoff. However, the day before the game was reserved for giving back to the community.

Coach O, safety Eric Monroe, long snapper Blake Ferguson, and others visited Phoenix Children's Hospital to spread Tiger spirit to the patients. 

"It's just a blessing to this program and to everybody in here," safety Eric Monroe said. "It was amazing to see the smiles on the kids' faces."

Monroe, long snapper Blake Ferguson, and the rest of the team will have one of those smiling faces cheering them on in the Fiesta Bowl on New Year's Day. Maleek, a patient at Phoenix Children's will be discharged in time to go to the game.

"It's going to be so fun seeing Maleek there tomorrow," Ferguson said. "We know that's really encouraging for him."

LSU football gifted baskets to all 266 patients and their families currently receiving treatment at Phoenix Children's hospital.
