One of LSU's top defensive linemen in 2019 will return to the 2020 season, per The Athletic.
Neil Farrell was the first Tiger to opt out in August after his grandmother began her battle with COVID-19. Farrell says his grandmother is feeling better every day.
The senior out of Mobile, Alabama led the LSU defensive linemen with 46 stops and three sacks during the 2019 season. Farrell is shaping up to become a potential starter this upcoming season.
Coach Ed Orgeron is confident in his defense's depth with the return of Farrell, and he hopes that tackle Tyler Shelvin will also announce his return as well.
Orgeron believes the tigers will have a strong 2020 season, despite the loss of many key players from 2019. The season opener against Miss. State will take place in Tiger Stadium on Sept. 26 at 2:30 pm CST.
