LSU junior Devin White was officially crowned the best linebacker in the nation winning the 2018 Dick Butkus Award.
Matt Butkus, son of legendary Chicago Bears linebacker Dick Butkus, presented the 34th-annual award to White on LSU's campus on Tuesday afternoon.
White is the first LSU player to win the Butkus award in school history. He is the first Tiger to win a national award since Odell Beckham Jr. won the Paul Hornung Award in 2013.
White has not announced if he will forego his senior season to enter the NFL draft yet. He recently did confirm that he will be leading the Tiger defense in the Fiesta Bowl against the UCF Knights on January 1.
