It was announced this morning that LSU starting linebacker, Michael Divinity will be leaving the team.
"Michael Divinity has left the team for personal reasons," Coach Orgeron stated as he met with the media Monday. "K'Lavon has been taking reps and Andre Anthony's going to be there, Ray Thornton's going to be there, we'll be fine."
The Senior was absent in three games this season and started in five. So far this season he had 22 tackles, three sacks and one forced fumble.
Divinity was an asset to the team, but Coach Orgeron addressed the media with a next man up mentality and said they would be fine.
Divinity put up an Instagram post on Monday afternoon reading, "I am taking some time off to focus on a personal matter and just wanted to say thank you to me coaches, teammates, and the entire LSU community for your continued help and support. I am sorry I can't be on the field for you guys. My goal is to get myself back to 100% in time to graduate in December and be back on the field fighting with my brothers soon. This is incredibly difficult for me, and it means so much to me that so many people have reached out - knowing you have have my back will make the next short while a lot easier. Thank you all. I got this, I promise you."
For the next upcoming weeks the tigers will be playing without Michael Divinty but Coach Orgeron says the door isn't closed for him.
