Jay Johnson is the New Coach for LSU Baseball

The search for Paul Manieri's successor is over. LSU has selected Arizona Head Coach Jay Johnson to continue the lasting legacy Manieri has left as the head coach of LSU Baseball.

Johnson has coached for Arizona for five seasons with two College World Series appearances. The Arizona Wildcats returned from the 2021 College World Series Monday after a defeat against Stanford.

In five seasons with the Wildcats, Johnson has amassed a 163-96, which is the third most wins in the Pac-12 since 2016. Johnson was the first Arizona coach in school history to lead his team to the NCAA Tournament in both his first and second seasons as head coach.

With Johnson, Arizona has produced 28 Major League Baseball draft picks producing 14 top-10 round picks during his time as head coach.
