LSU Football HC Ed Orgeron, QB and game MVP Joe Burrow and true freshman DB cornerback Derek Stingley Jr. address the media following the win against Georgia for the Division title.
This is the first time Stingley addressed the media in his college football career. The player talked about how he felt following his first interception of the game, when Georgia was still a threat.
"On defense, it was amazing, but this is what we've been working for since the summer," Stingley said. "We knew that, if everybody worked together, then nobody could really compete with us."
With the Heisman ceremony coming up next week, Coach touched on Burrow's strengths and why he thinks he should win the title.
"In my opinion, he's the best player in the country. In my opinion, he should win it. In my opinion, he's going to win it," Orgeron said. "The best thing about Joe is he's a team player. All he wants to do is win this game. Individual awards are not high on his list. That's what makes him such a great team player."
Burrow himself talked about the surprises they faced from Georgia and how the team was able to react quickly and improvise, to their success.
"They did a great job of disguising their blitzes. They had a new package for us this week that I didn't see on film," Burrow said. "That's why I was having to make those scrambles. I told the O-line before the game, this one's going to be a lot of fun. I can just feel it. That's exactly what it was."
