LSU held its ninth annual Louisiana queer conference at the Business Education Complex on Saturday.

The conference had multiple workshops for the attendees and a final keynote given by Pidgeon Pagonis, who appeared on the cover of national geographic "gender revolution" special issue and was honored as an LGBT champion of change in 2015 by the Obama white house.

Pagonis spoke on behalf of intersex people advocating to put an end to unwanted intersex surgeries.

"Come together as a student group and make your school have protections and non-discrimination policies for intersex students," Pagonis said.

The conference provides an annual venue for individuals to discuss ideas and collaborate on projects, while building a statewide network to advance the LGBTQ movement. Next year, the LAQC will be celebrating ten years at LSU.
