BATON ROUGE, LA LSU - It has been over six months since the Pi Kappa Phi fraternity at LSU has been on an interim suspension of activities.
On May 13, the Gamma Iota chapter met with Student Advocacy & Accountability to go over possible infractions.
LSU Media Relations Director Ernie Ballard stated “LSU has issued the suspension of the LSU chapter of Pi Kappa Phi through May 31, 2023, for a number of violations of the LSU Code of Student Conduct. As we stated in the fall when Pi Kappa Phi was placed on interim suspension due to serious allegations, we would follow our process and fully investigate the claims."
The fraternity was found to be in violation of six codes from the LSU Code of Student Contact.
Student Advocacy & Accountability found signs of hazing, endangerment, alcohol, coercive behavior, drugs and failure to comply.
Ballard stated that "We again urge students to stop taking part in such activities and to report them to LSU officials if they are seen."
With the suspension from campus, the fraternity can not hold activities on or off campus, solicit new members or initiate any new members.
We will keep you updated as more is released.
