President Donald Trump will be the third president in history to be impeached.
The US House of Representatives voted to impeach the President by both Articles of Impeachment, abuse of power (230-197) and obstruction of Congress (229-198).
Louisiana congressmen voted along party lines, with Republicans Scalise, Higgins, Johnson, Abraham and Graves voting against the articles. Democrat Cedric Richmond from Louisiana's second district, covering Baton Rouge, voted in favor of impeachment.
The GOP controlled Senate will move in early January on whether or not to remove the President from office. The vote to remove the President would require a two-thirds majority.
