Three LSU employees reported testing positive for COVID-19, escalating the total number of cases of the LSU community to 14.
Two of the employees last appeared on campus March 19, and the other employee was last on campus March 26. They are all recovering in their homes.
There are six LSU employees, four undergraduate students, three LSU law students and one graduate student that reported testing positive for the virus.
Two LSU students and one LSU employee reported testing positive for COVID-19, increasing the number of cases of the LSU community to 11.
One student last appeared on campus March 17, the day campus closed to all faculty, staff and students. Both students are recovering at home in isolation.
The LSU faculty member last appeared on campus March 18 and is recovering at home.
Another LSU staff member, law student and undergraduate member of Greek life informed the university of their positive COVID-19 tests results Monday, increasing the total reported cases of the LSU community to eight.
The staff member last appeared on campus March 18, started showing symptoms March 21 and is now recovering in another parish.
The law student last attended classes on March 16, started showing symptoms March 21 and is recovering in self-isolation off-campus.
The undergraduate student who is a member of the Greek community and lived on campus last appeared on campus March 10 and is recovering at home in self-isolation.
An LSU staff member tested positive for the novel coronavirus and informed the university Friday according to the LSU COVID-19 Testing Results webpage.
The staff member started showing symptoms March 18 and was last on campus March 17, the day campus closed to all faculty and staff.
The employee is recovering at home in isolation.
The university did not send out an email to the student body; however, the university notified anyone who was in close contact with the staff member.
An LSU Law student also tested positive for the novel coronavirus and notified the university on Friday according to the LSU COVID- 19 Testing Results webpage.
The student was present in classes on the last day, March 13 and was briefly on campus to collect belongings on March 17.
The student does not live in on-campus housing and has recovered in isolation at home in another city.
Those who had any contact with the student during their time on campus have been notified.
"After the third case message was sent out, it explained that any further cases would be posted online," said Director of Media Relations, Ernie Ballard. "I don't anticipate emails for each new case."
Each new confirmed case of the LSU community will be reported to lsu.edu/coronavirus/testing-results.
