The rise of online shopping combined with the COVID-19 pandemic caused Black Friday to look a little different in recent years.

During the pandemic in 2020, shopping centers saw a large decline of in-store shoppers on Thanksgiving and Black Friday.

However, their online stores saw a rise.

Wall Street Journal reports a 37% decline of in-store shoppers on Black Friday, but online shoppers rose by eight percent.

Black Friday sales are usually for big ticket items, such as TVs or Apple products.

Cyber Monday sales typically include smaller electronics and clothes.

With online shopping on the rise, the two holidays have become one, as in-store and online sales typically start the week of Black Friday and end even after Cyber Monday.

This results in Black Friday becoming a less hectic holiday.

The best places to shop for Black Friday deals are department stores, like Macy’s, and large retailers, like Walmart.

Another must-stop-shop for Black Friday deals is Bath and Body Works, with their annual buy three, get three sale.

According to Adobe Analytics, Black Friday 2021 will offer the best deals on furniture, bedding, tools, and home improvement.
