Five students have been diagnosed with mumps on LSU’s campus.

Reports about the infection were released earlier this week and discussed by students Tuesday, Feb. 4, and Wednesday, Feb. 5.

A tennis match scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 9, at the LSU Tennis Complex has been canceled due to precautionary measures by LSU and the University of Tulsa and Nicholls State University.

This was done as a result of a student athlete being one of the five diagnosed with mumps.

The Division of Strategic Communications sent an email to all LSU staff and students warning them of the illness and informing them of their efforts to combat the conditions.

The LSU Student Health Center is partnering with the Louisiana Department of Health to provide daily updates and information about mumps.

The Student Health Center is offering the MMR vaccine to students free of charge.

The Student Health Center is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon
