Fraternities and Sororities under the Interfraternity and Panhellenic councils at LSU have begun inviting spring recruits to open houses with opportunities to join their chapters.

"Spring recruitment is a big opportunity for a lot of guys, especially guys who came in in the fall and had reservations about the recruitment process," IFC Vice President Ethyn Loreno said.

The PHC chapters participating in spring recruitment are Alpha Delta Pi, Delta Zeta, Kappa Alpha Theta, Sigma Alpha, and Zeta Tau Alpha.

The IFC chapters participating in spring recruitment are Acacia, Alpha Tau Omega, Beta Theta Pi, Delta Chi, Fiji, Pi Kappa Alpha, Sigma Alpha Mu, Sigma Chi and Sigma Phi Epsilon.

Registration for IFC recruitment has already closed, but registration for PHC recruitment will be available until Friday, February 1.

PHC Vice President of Recruitment Destiny Girouard said that they hope for around 90 girls to be registered by the deadline.

"I 100% suggest going through recruitment, even if it's not just spring. Because for me personally, coming from a small town, I didn't know a lot of people here and college can be a stressful time, so going through recruitment allows you to meet so many people, even if you don't end up in their chapter."

Registration for next year's fall recruitment will open in early May.
