Over the past few years, mass shootings have become more common and increased security has become a standard with movie theaters across the country.

As Halloween approaches, local cinemas stay on high alert to ensure customers' safety, especially those that are going to see the movie "Joker."

"Some people I guess aren’t necessarily in the right psychological mindset to be able to handle some things," says LSU senior Alex Hebert.

Though many may be hesitant to go to the movies even when they are not seeing a film that could set somebody off or during Halloween, theater employees are taking extra care to see that customers are able to enjoy their night out risk-free.
