The Manship School of Mass Communication announced Thursday that Dr. Kimberly Bissell will be the next dean of the school.
Bissell will start the role on July 24 if the Board of Supervisors approves her appointment.
Bissell currently serves in multiple capacities at The University of Alabama's College of Communication and Information Sciences. Her current roles include Associate Dean for Research and Executive Director of the Institute for Communication & Information Research.
Bissell's research focuses on the social effects media can have on health outcomes like body image and healthy literacy.
