LSU announced Wednesday afternoon that the COVID-19 pandemic has affected grading options. For the spring 2020 semester only, on a class-by-class basis, students will have the opportunity to elect to have final grades reported on their transcript as the standard +/- letter grade earned in courses or as Pass/No Credit (P/NC) grades.
If P/NC is chosen, undergraduates who earn between an A+ and C- and graduate students who earn between an A+ and B- will receive a "P" on their official transcripts. Undergraduate students who get a D+ or F and graduate students who get between a C+ and F will receive an "NC' on their transcript.
Neither the "P" nor "NC" will affect the student's GPA.
Students will receive additional information on how they can choose to designate courses as P/NC. This process is optional, and students can still opt to keep their original grades in any or all of their classes. LSU encourages students to carefully make their own informed decisions and consult their academic advisers with any questions or concerns.
This option is not available to students in the LSU Online Program, the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine and the LSU Law Center.
