LSU's Emergency Operations Center sent out an email Sunday afternoon extending campus's closure through Tuesday, Aug. 31.

This extension comes in anticipation of lasting effects on the Baton Rouge community from Hurricane Ida.

LSU EOC stated that a decision will be made regarding the reopening of campus after the storm's damage can be assessed, and any changes to the academic calendar will also be communicated after the storm.

Students still on campus and in the Baton Rouge area are advised to shelter in place and move their vehicles from low-lying areas.

Tiger TV will continue to update students on Hurricane Ida as new information arises.
