LSU announced on Saturday, January 9, the COVID-19 roadmap for the Spring 2021 semester.
The university plans to continue updating the COVID-19 dashboard that displays the number of cases on LSU's campus, and beginning on January 18, LSU is providing a call center to answer any COVID-related questions. The call center can be reached at 225-427-1326.
The TIGERcheck daily symptom checker is only required to be filled out on the days that students and professors plan to be on campus. In highly populated places on campus, the QR code from the completed survey will be needed to enter the area.
LSU COVID-19 testing pods will no longer be available. Instead, LSU is providing testing locations at the student union, 263 Coates Hall and the Student Health Center. Students who take advantage of the provided on- campus testing centers will be entered into a bi-weekly raffle to win incentives such as various apple products.
LSU will randomly select groups of students to be required to be tested for COVID-19, and they will also be entered into the raffle. LSU will continue to monitor wastewater on campus to control any possible COVID-19 outbreaks.
As more information is released about the COVID-19 vaccine, LSU will continue to update the community. Students will receive a survey to gauge their interest in getting the vaccine.
For the spring 2021 semester, LSU is still requiring masks to be worn properly over the nose and mouth on campus, maintaining a 6 feet physical distance from other people, covering all coughs and sneezes, washing hands, using hand sanitizer regularly and avoiding large gatherings of people.
