If you’ve been thinking of adding a furry best friend to your family, now is the perfect time to adopt from LSU’s animal shelter.
Companion animal alliance partnered with NBC to run the yearly “Clear the Shelters” event.
The shelter is doing $15 adoptions with the help of the Rolo Foundation.
Communications and grants director Emily Jackson said the shelter transferred many animals to prepare for the influx of pets following Hurricane Ida.
“Since Hurricane Ida didn’t necessarily impact the Baton Rouge area and our parish, we have not yet seen an influx, but we do anticipate taking in pets from neighboring shelters,” said Jackson.
“Clear the Shelters” ends on Sept. 19.
