LSU police were called to an on-campus LSU fraternity after an employee reported seeing a noose in the house fireplace.

Police officers say the noose was already removed when they arrived at the Kappa Alpha Order fraternity Thursday morning.

“The university welcomes viewpoints and open dialogue on campus, but these types of bias incidents aren’t tolerated,” said LSU Spokesman Ernie Ballard.

There is an ongoing investigation with LSU police, the Office of Student Advocacy & Accountability and the Bias Incident Response team.

Updates will be available at once new information is provided.
