The men's soccer club has something a little different to celebrate, as they'll be hosting their first ever tournament this weekend, dubbed the "Battle in the Boot."
The LSU men's soccer club is bringing soccer clubs of the south together this weekend, with their first annual "Battle of the Boot"
The club's president, senior Michael Buisson, has been working to put this event together for the past 3 years.
This weekend's tournament will bring together 5 different teams from all across the south, including the men's soccer clubs from Tulane, Florida State, Oklahoma State and Arkansas-- all with the goal of being crowned champions of the "Battle in the Boot".
The men's soccer club has games throughout the year, but they haven't had many chances to compete with teams outside of Louisiana until this tournament.
Despite this weekend’s grim weather forecast, the teams are still planning on playing.
Their games are scheduled for 6 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. Saturday and the championship is on Sunday afternoon.
