At LSU’s second vaccination event held at Tiger Stadium, they offered two types of vaccines, Pfizer and Moderna, to LSU student workers and employees.

Almost 1,200 people scheduled to receive the vaccine today.

LSU distributed the Moderna and Pfizer vaccines on a first come, first served basis; however most individuals received the Pfizer vaccine.

The Medical Director of Student Health Dr. Nelson Perret said, “The sooner everyone gets vaccinated, the sooner we can reach herd immunity.” He hopes for a normal semester in the upcoming fall for both the students and professors.

He added, “If everyone gets vaccinated, I think this [upcoming] fall will look like the fall 2019 semester. We could get back to normal sooner or later.”

Starting Monday, March 29, everyone who is over the age of 16 are eligible to receive the vaccine and stay safe from the global pandemic.
