LSU's Manship School of Mass Communication, partnered with Nexstar Media group, will be hosting the first debate of the season for the upcoming Gubernatorial election this Thursday, September 19.

Chad Sabadie, an adjunct professor with the Manship school and anchor for Fox 44, sat down with us to talk all things debate.

Regarding key topics of the debate, "Nothings off the table," Sabadie said. "They're entitled to ask whatever the question may be... but one that comes strikingly to mind is higher education."

One of the biggest issues for students who attend the debate should look out for is the funding of TOPS, and funding for the university in general, according to Sabadie.

The moderator also encourages students to really listen to the issues they care about, so they can formulate their own opinions for one of their first times voting.

The debate will be broadcast Thursday, September 19 at 7:00 p.m. from the LSU Student Union Theater.
