The 5 and 459 Commons Dining Halls are to remain open through LSU’s closure in the aftermath of Hurricane Ida.

Cheramie Gosnell, LSU Dining’s Marketing and Guest Experience Manager, says that students can expect their usual dining experience. The dining halls are the only open dining options on campus currently, but Gosnell says that they are prepared to make sure any student has enough food and water.

“We were fortunate enough that we were able to get food trucks in,” Gosnell said, “and we don’t anticipate any disruption in service at all.”

LSU Students Katherine Shaughnessy and Natalie Blanchard said that they have visited the 459 Commons multiple times since sheltering from the storm on campus.

Shaughnessy said that the dining staff had to-go containers ready on the day of the hurricane to ensure that students had enough food through the storm.

“They were like ‘take whatever you need and pack as much as you can,’” Blanchard said.
