After LSU President William Tate made it mandatory for students to get the COVID vaccine to be on campus, the number of positive COVID tests greatly decreased down to 1%.

While the COVID numbers are going down, flu cases are increasing. Last year on campus, there were under 20 reported cases of the flu, now 35% of tests have come back positive.

"Up until November, we hadn't seen really any flu, but since then we have seen a significant increase in cases,"  LSU Student Health Center Executive Director Julie Hupperich said.

There are several locations on campus where students are able to go get the flu shot, and at the Student Health Center students can get a free pair of LSU socks if they get the shot.
