LSU’s hidden treasure on campus has reopened after a year due to COVID-19.
The dairy store is an extension of the LSU AgCenter and uses its resources to produce local meat, cheeses and ice cream.
“We make our product, and we sell it right here in the store,” Dairy store manager Andrea Armstrong said.
Located on Tower Drive on LSU's campus, students, alumni and visitors can come in and get a sweet cold treat on a hot Louisiana day.
“Our most popular item is ice cream, and our most popular flavor is tiger bites,” Armstrong said. “Which is blueberry and vanilla and it's purple and gold for Tigers.”
Due to COVID-19, the restricted hours for the dairy store are Monday through Friday, 11a.m. to 4p.m.
Armstrong says that customers receive a feeling of satisfaction when visiting the shop.
“They will always leave happy because our ice cream will always taste the same. You will never have a bad batch of our ice cream; it is always good,” Armstrong said.
