An LSU student is dead after being struck by a vehicle near Tigerland Tuesday night.
According to the Baton Rouge Police Department, 19-year-old Sarah James of Montz, Louisiana, was hit by a 2001 GMC Yukon while crossing Nicholson Drive around 11:39 p.m.
Baton Rouge Police spokesman L'Jean McKneely Jr. said James died at the hospital later that night.
An LSU sophomore, James was studying biological engineering and was a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority.

It is unknown how many people have been hit by vehicles in the areas surrounding LSU.
