Kanye West Brings Sunday Service to Baton Rouge

Kanye West brought his popular Sunday Service to Baton Rouge on Friday, November 2.

West has hosted his exclusive "Sunday Service" since January at his home in Los Angeles, but has been touring with an 80-piece chorus for the last few months.

The service was held at Bethany Church in Baton Rouge, under the shadows of the large crosses that can be seen from Interstate 10 near Siegen Lane. Thousands of people were expected to attend the sold-out service, and were encouraged to wear rain boots due to the service being held outside.

West's new passion for mixing gospel and hip hop is seen in his latest work, an album titled Jesus is King, a unique departure from his previous albums.

Bethany Church pastor Jonathan Stockstill introduced the show, which was filled with Kanye and the choir performing songs from his latest album.

"They told me that if I gave my life to God I would lose it, but look at us now, number one album worldwide," West said in a passionate speech.

West was also accompanied by his children with Kim Kardashian, lifting his son Saint on his shoulders early in the show.

Jesus is King debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, as well as being No. 1 on iTunes across the globe.
